As a CFUW member there are MANY opportunities to take on leadership roles within all levels of the organization from the local to international levels.
CFUW clubs have executive boards, committees, and interest groups. Inquire with your club about those opportunities.
CFUW Alberta Council has an executive board that is led by the Alberta Regional Director. Council meetings occur ~7x per year.
CFUW national has an executive board and various committees and subcommittees. These positions are decided on every 2 years at (executive board) or after (committees/subcommittees) the Annual General Meeting.
Graduate Women international has an executive board and various committees and subcommittees. These positions are decided on every 3 years at (executive board) or after (committees/subcommittees) at the Triennial Meeting.
CFUW takes a stand on a variety of issues including gender-based violence, early learning and child care, education, the environment, and the empowerment of women as leaders and decision-makers. You don't have to be a professional advocate to take action, whether individually, as part of your club, part of provincial council, part of a national committee, or part of an international committee, you can take action on a variety of issues.
